Models reference book: how the module works
How the “Models reference book” module works: adding new models, editing existing ones, disabling and deleting.
Updated
WorkPan comes with a base of models the user receives at registration. If needed, the user can edit existing models, add new ones, switch off or delete the ones they do not need. Duplicate entries can also be merged, and models can be linked to devices and brands. All of that is described in detail below.
You can reach the Models reference book section:
- Control panel → Models
- Quick access menu → System → Reference books → Models reference book
In the Models reference book section you can search model records and filter them by device type, brand, model name and status. For convenience the filter can be saved and reused later. The filter can also be personalised by switching the parameters you need on or off.

A new model can be added as follows:
- Click the “Add” button.
- In the modal window that appears, choose
- The device type (see the “Devices reference book”).
- The brand (see the “Brands reference book”).
- Enter the model name.
- Click the “Save” button.

Note: when new models are added, the system checks the name for uniqueness, and if such a model has been added before, the system will say so.
To edit an existing model:
- Select the entry you need to edit.
- Click the “Edit” button.
- In the modal window that appears, enter the values you need.
- The device type (see the “Devices reference book”).
- The brand (see the “Brands reference book”).
- Enter the model name.
- Click the “Save” button.

Note: when models are edited, the system checks the name for uniqueness, and if such a model has been added before, the system will say so.
To delete a model from the reference book:
- Select the entry you need to delete.
- Click the drop-down menu next to the “Edit” button. In the field that appears, choose “Delete”.
- Confirm the action in the window that appears: “Yes, delete”.
Note: if this “model” is in use in the system, you will not be able to delete it — only to switch it off (see below)
To switch some models off temporarily:
- Select the entry you need to switch off.
- With the mouse, drag the toggle to the left until the label “Active” changes to “Disabled”. The toggle colour changes from green to grey. Dragging it back to the right activates the disabled entry again.

To “merge” several models into one:
Attention! Be careful — this action cannot be undone. When several models are merged, orders, goods and other reference books are automatically switched to the new model, and the old values are deleted. Use this feature only to merge similar, equivalent values.
- For each entry you want to merge, choose “Merge”.
- You can then review the values taking part in the merge.
- In the modal window that opens you can remove the values that should not be merged.
- Then choose the “Leading” model: in every reference book, the models from the list are replaced with it.
- Click “Save”.
