Parts reference book: how the module works

The “Parts reference book” module is meant for compiling lists of the parts needed for repairs; the entries of that list can later be used when building the “Services reference book” and in repair “Orders”.

WorkPan comes with a base of parts the user receives at registration. If needed, the user can edit existing lists, add new ones, switch off or delete the ones they do not need.

You can reach the Parts reference book section:

• Control panel → Parts
• Quick access menu → System → Reference books → Parts reference book

In the Parts reference book section you can search the list of parts, add new ones, delete and edit existing ones. Temporarily switching parts off from the list is available too. You can also choose to show 10, 25, 50 or 100 rows per page.

A new part can be added as follows:

1. Click the “Add” button.
2. Enter the part name in the field that appears.
3. Click the floppy-disk icon to the right of the input field, or press Enter on the keyboard, to save.

To edit an existing part:

1. Select the entry you need to edit.
2. Click the “Edit” button. The entry name is replaced by a field for entering a new one.
3. Type the new value.
4. Click the floppy-disk icon to the right of the input field, or press Enter on the keyboard, to save.

To delete a part from the reference book:

1. Select the entry you need to delete.
2. Click the drop-down menu next to the “Edit” button. In the field that appears, choose “Delete”.
3. Confirm the action in the window that appears: “Yes, delete”.

To switch some parts off temporarily:

1. Select the entry you need to switch off.
2. With the mouse, drag the toggle to the left until the label “Active” changes to “Disabled”. The toggle colour changes from green to grey. Dragging it back to the right activates the disabled entry again.
